Create, Manage, and Maintain Realistic Personas at Scale
Create, Manage, and Maintain Realistic Personas at Scale
Overview
Persona.sh is a web-based platform for building and managing detailed personas with backstories, social media profiles, relationships, and local knowledge. Personas are more than names and demographics. They are fully fleshed-out identities with contact details, community context, and connections to other personas. Persona.sh gives you the tools to manage individual personas and the web of relationships between them.
The platform is designed for teams that need realistic personas for testing, simulation, research, and storytelling. Whether you are stress-testing a system with synthetic users, building character networks for a narrative project, or creating representative personas for product research, Persona.sh provides a structured way to create and maintain them.
Built as a TypeScript monorepo, the platform runs a Hono-based API server backed by PostgreSQL and Redis, with a React frontend that uses shadcn/ui components and Tailwind CSS. Realtime updates flow through WebSockets, and email notifications are handled via SMTP integration.
Who It’s For
- Persona.sh serves teams that rely on realistic, structured persona data.
- QA and Testing Teams — Generate synthetic users for load testing, UAT, and system validation
- Product Research — Build and maintain representative personas for user research and design thinking
- Simulation and Modeling — Create persona networks for agent-based simulations and scenario planning
- Creative and Narrative Projects — Manage character relationships, backstories, and social graphs for writing and game design
- Marketing and Sales — Develop detailed buyer personas with realistic profiles and relationship mapping
- Training and Education — Build persona scenarios for role-playing exercises and training programs

How It Works
Creating a persona takes just a few clicks. Start with basic information and Persona.sh does the rest. The platform auto-generates an AI-powered avatar based on your persona’s attributes, then lets you expand with backstories, relationships, social profiles, and local knowledge.
The step-by-step creation flow guides you through: basic identity (name, birthdate, demographics), personality and background, and relationship mapping. You can use the built-in AI assistant to auto-fill fields, speeding up creation without sacrificing detail.

Why Persona.sh
Persona.sh fills a gap between spreadsheet-based persona tracking and full CRM systems. It is purpose-built for the specific needs of persona management: rich attributes, relationship mapping, and collaborative editing. The realtime collaboration and structured data model mean your team can work together on persona networks without the friction of shared documents or disconnected tools.
